Brook Trout, Lake Trout, Northern Pike and walleye are the most popular species fished for.
Lake Nipigon is only accessed by four main access.
Access at Macdairmid and Beardmore (High Hill Harbour) on the eastern shore, Gull Bay on the western shore and South on the south shore just north of Nipigon. All three locations have well-maintained launches for all sizes of boats.
South Bay is accessed via Cameron Falls road north and west onto South Bay Road on a maintained gravel road, follow signs.
